Talent Central is London's premiere cheer gym

Gallions Reach Shopping Park has plenty of free parking, places to eat & of course, shopping! It also has London's first dedicated cheer gym. Located in the former Officer’s Club, Talent Central has a full 9-panel spring floor and an AirTumbleTrack in the lower gym, plus a matted training area in the upper gym. Both gyms have mirrored walls and space to cheer, dance, jump, stunt and tumble.
Talent Central Program Manager Angela Brown said, "It has always been our dream to host a cheer gym in London, and we are delighted to share Talent Central with the wider cheer community. We have open gym sessions each week, as well as classes for all ages. Teams are also welcome to private hire the gym exclusively for their own training. We want this to be a resource that helps to build opportunity and recognition for one of Britain's fastest growing sporting activities."

Talent Central offer two, week-night Open Gym sessions on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 7.30-9pm, for £5 per person. Open Gym sessions are ideal for stunt groups who are seeking extra training time. These twice-weekly sessions are a great way to supplement training needs, either on the full-spring floor or on the Air TumbleTrack. Pre-book to be guaranteed a space!
Ascension Eagles will continue to operate their London Cheerleading Academy outreach, which runs clubs in 25 schools each week, works with over 2600 young people annually, and organises Showcase events each term. Talent Central Assistant Program Manager Natalie Baptiste said, “We are seeing incredible talent developing in our school teams. To challenge young people further, we will be inviting top schools cheerleaders to come together to form Talent Central All Stars. In addition to progressing their skills with other top athletes, we will also equip them with leadership skills they can invest in their school teams. It’s brilliant to have our own facilities, so we can increase the quality and quantity of our outreach.”
Talent Central Training Co-ordinator Patrick Asante said, “It’s great to have an upper and lower gym, so two classes can take place at once. We want to hear what classes people would like to take, and we will do our best to meet the demand. We will also be opening our doors to other cheer teams, so they can have training time on a professional sprung floor.”
Patrick, Angela and Natalie all coach Ascension Eagles Senior Coed team, who recently won overall European Champions, and who will represent England at the 2010 Cheerleading World Championships. In addition to winning Grand Champion National and European titles, 20 AEC Seniors have achieved their international coaching qualifications, and are serving from the Talent Central gym.
Talent Central has been selected as recruiting headquarters for cheer teams wanting to perform at the world's largest talent exhibition -- Talent Expo, ExCeL London, 24-27 June. In addition to giving some of Britain's best All-Star teams a chance to perform for top media agents, Talent Central will also host a greater London schools competition on 24 June at the Talent Expo press day.
